SERVICES: HOW IT WORKS

Consultation. Packages. Online Classroom.

Effective test preparation involves developing a unique skill set; students must cultivate specific test-taking habits for maximum score improvement. Proper development of these skills requires a minimum of 12 tutoring hours supported by a series of timed practice tests. Therefore, we offer our services in packages to provide high-quality, individualized, effective preparation that produces meaningful results.

Prior to our first session we always offer a consultation to:

  • determine which test you’ll prep for (SAT/ACT);

  • define score improvement goals;

  • determine prep hours needed.

We will then outline a prep plan that generally consists of one 1.5 hour weekly session. In some cases, two or three sessions per week for more condensed prep may be appropriate. Your plan will always be customized for your specific needs and goals.

CONSULTATION

PACKAGES

  • ACT/SAT: Nicholson Tutoring offers three core packages: 12 hours, 18 hours, 24 hours, and 30 hours. The number of tutoring hours directly corresponds to the desired score improvement. The 24-hour and 30-hour packages include a satisfaction guarantee: if upon completion of 24 or 30 hours of tutoring you are not satisfied with your score improvement on an official test, we offer additional tutoring hours at no charge (3 hours for 24-hour package; 6 hours for 30-hour package).

  • ISEE/SSAT/PSAT/Single AP Test: 9 hours

  • After completing a package, additional hours can be scheduled as needed without purchasing an additional package.

All packages include:

  • Custom SAT/ACT manual, written and designed exclusively by the highly experienced Nicholson Tutoring standardized test content developers

  • Phone or virtual consultation after each official test to review scores and plan next steps

  • Customized student guide to help a student self-prep for an additional test as needed

  • Unlimited self-proctored practice tests with detailed score review analysis

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM

All sessions will take place in the Nicholson Tutoring Online Classroom. This classroom is interactive and allows for personalized, one-on-one sessions. Families considering tutoring can view an online demo before they commit to a package.
